Mick learns to walk (English version)

Well hello there,

have you read my previous article about the Mia Foundation?

If you have, well you already know what the Mia Foundation is all about. It's about giving every animal born a chance at life

A couple of weeks ago a little boston terrier came to the Mia Foundation with puppy swimmersyndrome, meaning he was born as flat as a pancake. He couldn't walk, he couldn't sit up and he couldn't run.

He was named Mick by the Foundation.

Most of these pups die because of pressure on their chest as they grow larger and heavier, or they are just euthanized at birth.

But not this little guy, his breeder took care of him until he was 6 weeks old and then surrendered Mick to the Mia Foundation, in hope they could help him.

And if somebody could it is the amazing Sue Rogers and her team of Mia Angels.

Well, if you look at this video, it will say more then a million words ever can.

WARNING!! This video will make you cry and smile at the same time.

And just 5 days after this amazing video, the next video was posted, showing Mick, running without bandages or a harness!

You go sweet little boy!

Mia op volwassen leeftijd

This foundation started with a tiny chihuahua name Mia. 

She was born with a cleft palate and it was immediatly suggested by the vet to have her euthanized.

Sue however didn't want to give up on her and wanted to give this little precious being a fighting chance. She tube-fed her every 2 hours, and Mia continued to grow...


While Mia continued to age and grow, she underwent a couple of surgeries in attempt to fix her cleft palate. All broke down, but Mia continued to fight...


Unfortunatly Mia went over the rainbow bridge on April 11th 2012, 2 weeks before her second birthday, due to pneumonia.

Mia had inspired Sue in such a way she decided to start The Mia Foundation, in the way Mia had wanted her to put forth her legacy...
Giving other animals born with birth 'defects' a chance at life and love.

Some succes stories:

Mikey

Born with a weird bald spot and deformed backlegs... He grew up to be a normal healthy chihuahua! 

Hope

Born without frontlegs... She walk on her own, even without her cart.

Marcy

Born with a cleft lip... can now eat on her own.

Muffy

Born without backfeet, but you would never know...

But this little guy really stole my heart... 

Max(imus) was the first one to come to The Mia Foundation and has found his forever home with Sue.

He was born with a serious form of scolioses and it was suggested by vets to have him euthanized...
He would never make it to 6 months all the hospitals and specialists said. But look at him now, he is just 2 weeks away from his first birthday.

With a lot of love, a lot of devotion and one heck of a woman, all these animals have been given the chance of life.

And that's what they all deserve!!

So please, help spraid the word, because if they are born, they deserve a chance!

The MIA Foundation (Nederlandse versie)

Het is weer een hele tijd geleden sinds ik hier nog iets neer schreef.
Misschien omdat er een lange tijd niets was om over te schrijven?

Het heeft vooral te maken met het feit dat ik me een hele tijd het toegelegd op Belle's Mission, mijn gezin en mijn werk.

Maar nu is er toch wel iets heel belangrijks waar ik al een hele tijd iets over wou schrijven, nl. The MIA Foundation facebook; The MIA Foundation website, The MIA Foundation youtube-kanaal...

Mia op volwassen leeftijd

Deze foundation is begonnen met een klein chihuahua'tje genaamd Mia.
Ze werd geboren met een open gehemelte en er werd meteen gesuggereerd door de dierenarts om haar te laten inslapen.

Sue wou deze kleine meid een vechtende kans geven en bracht haar groot met 2-uurlijkse voedingen door een slangetje.


Naarmate Mia oud genoeg was onderging ze meerdere operaties, die telkens mislukte, om haar gehemelte te repareren.


Spijtig genoeg stierf Mia op 11 april 2012, op 2 maanden van haar 2de verjaardag, door een longonsteking.

Mia had Sue echter zo geïnspireerd om meerdere dieren die geboren worden met een geboorte misvorming een kans te geven om op te groeien tot gezonde dieren...

En zo ontstond The MIA Foundation!!

Enkele succes verhalen:

Mikey

Geboren met een rare kale plek en misvormde achterpoten... Hij is nu een normale chihuahua!

Hope

Geboren zonder voorpoten... Kan nu alleen rond huppelen, zelfs zonder wagen.

Marcy

Geboren met een hazenlip, kan nu zelfstandig eten...

Muffy

Geboren zonder achterpoten, huppelt nu rond zoals nooit tevoren.

Maar deze kleine man heeft echt mijn hart gestolen...

Max(imus) werd als eerste opgenomen na de start van The MIA Foundation, en heeft dan ook zijn voor eeuwige thuis gevonden bij Sue.

Hij werd geboren met ernstige scoliose en werd meteen voorgesteld om het te euthanaseren.
Hij zou nog geen 6 maanden worden zeiden alle grote ziekenhuizen en specialisten, hij is nu 2 weken weg van zijn 1ste verjaardag.

Dus alsjeblief, help het woord te verspreiden, ook deze dieren verdienen een kans om te leven!
